“I love helping turn strangers into friends, and I want guests to know I won’t play around with their safety.”

You can take the girl out of Jersey but you can’t take Jersey out of the girl. That’s why you won’t go wrong with Sara as your sweep on your BTA tour. Born in Bergenfield, New Jersey, she has no trouble being loud if and when it’s needed, and her extroverted nature as a former bartender and beer salesperson in New York City means she’s comfortable helping turn strangers into friends. She’s also worked with half the top names in nonprofits in this city and beyond (or so it seems) as a two-time AmeriCorps volunteer as well as a paid employee, so she has knowledge on everything from urban agriculture to bikeshare to building homes for those in need. She even took a cross-country fundraising bike trip which included helping build homes in multiple cities, and has completed two half-Ironmans.

Toss in a college internship at Mercedes Benz (where she played on the internal volleyball team), study abroad in Germany and Italy, a stint with a leader in the hotel industry, plus a current full-time job managing a wholesale home-goods showroom at America’s Mart (to which she bike commutes most days), and that makes Sara a complete renaissance woman. What’s more, Sara loves to keep learning-by-doing and particularly appreciates that BTA tours immerse her in ongoing living history.

Most importantly, however, she wants guests to know that she is reliable and dependable and that she doesn’t play around with their safety. It’s probably no surprise that Sara, who always wanted to be a business owner, also hosts an Airbnb at her in-town home, where guest safety and comfort is her prime concern as well.
